Visiting with Children:
Waterworld has more than 30 different rides and experiences so we really do have something for everyone no matter what age or swimming ability. If you’re visiting with younger children we have a selection of smaller slides and child-friendly activities to keep them entertained.
Communal family changing/shower facilities, baby changing and milk warming facilities are all available.
Child Supervision Ratios:
All children under 11 years old MUST be accompanied by an adult and closely supervised in the pool at all times. One adult can supervise two children under 11 years old but no more, providing the children can swim. Weak or non swimmers, babies and toddlers MUST be supervised in the pool on a one adult to one child basis.
Anyone 11 years old and over can attend without adult supervision providing they are a strong swimmer and have no medical conditions.
PLEASE NOTE: Babies & Toddlers, and any older children that are not potty-trained, MUST wear well-fitting Swim Nappies under their swimming costumes. We also sell these in our Swim Shop. Note that Lifevests and arm bands are also available to be purchased in our Swim Shop
Parent & Toddler
Our off-peak period is a fantastic time to bring your toddlers to visit our facility. one of the most common questions we get asked here at Waterworld is:
“What rides can my child under 5years of age ride?”
A child under the age of 5 years old is usually under 1.1m tall which means they can use the following features:
- The Wave pool
- The Family Multi-slide (with an adult)
- The Jungle House flumes
- The children’s boat slide
- The 3 small children’s slides
- The Super flume (with an adult)
- The Black hole (with an adult)
- The Python (with an adult)
- The Bubble Pools
There is a baby & toddler area which is very shallow; it contains the Jungle House which has 2 flumes, tunnels and rope swings . There are a further 3 smaller toddler rides and a children’s boat slide too!
Adults MUST supervise the children under their supervision at all times in the Aqua Park.
Visiting with Disabled Guests
Waterworld’s car park has disabled parking spaces available for guests to use and ramps leading to the entrance. Reception and the changing rooms are wheelchair accessible. The changing rooms have two designated disabled changing cubicles, which are very spacious and have their own shower, a built-in bench and two chairs inside. If you require more space, or the use of a bed, please ask a changing room attendant for assistance. They will happily take you to another room where you will find a large bed that you can use to get changed on. We also have padded matting available upon request if this helps. There are always two changing room attendants on duty and they will always be happy to help should you require their assistance.
Upon entrance to the aqua park, the poolside slopes gradually like a beach, so the further out you drift, the deeper it gets. There are no steps entering or exiting the wave pool. If you require assistance getting into the pool, we have an indoor wheelchair that you are able to wheel in and out of the water.
We understand that during normal business hours, Waterworld can get very busy and may not be as suitable for some of our disabled guests as at other times, when we can restrict numbers and allocate extra lifeguards to assist our disabled guests and their families. Therefore, we hold events throughout the year specifically for guests with disabilities and special needs that may be more enjoyable. We are able to adjust the ride settings for such events to tone down the “thrill factor” as required, but unfortunately, we cannot do this during our normal operating hours.
